There is considerable evidence suggesting that compassion-based meditation practices (also know as loving kindness meditation or Metta) reduce symptoms of PTSD and depression as well as increase our capacity to relate to others in a clear and focused manner. The words loving-kindness describe an emotional state that is not a feeling of sentimental love. Rather, it can be described as an unconditional friendliness, benevolence, and goodwill.

This class will be focused on lecture for the first half, and then meditation practice centered on loving kindness practice and end with a Q & A.
Class time devoted to lecture: More than 45 minutes
