Appalachian forests are some of the most biodiverse in the world. They contain the food, medicines, and materials that have nourished, healed, and sustained people for millennia. Stroll through the woods to appreciate the lore and beauty of Appalachian plants and fungi. Your guide will point out edible and medicinal plants and share stories about their traditional and modern uses. Learn about and experience the healing power of seeking wild plants in the woods.
Class time devoted to lecture: 11-20 minutes
