Since the beginning of time many spiritual traditions have seen the value and importance of using Mantra practice to utilize the mind as an instrument for healing and to create the life that we want. This practice can be extremely powerful, mantra gives us a subtle yet profound internal message that relaxes the body and soothes the mind.

Inspired by Mantra meditation, this Radically Soulful Silence workshop will use words/phrases that can be spoken aloud or silently and provide an open doorway into the silence that lies at the bottom of the chatter of the mind.

The first half of the workshop will be lecture followed by a mantra based practice.

There is considerable evidence suggesting that compassion-based meditation practices (also know as loving kindness meditation or Metta) reduce symptoms of PTSD and depression as well as increase our capacity to relate to others in a clear and focused manner. The words loving-kindness describe an emotional state that is not a feeling of sentimental love. Rather, it can be described as an unconditional friendliness, benevolence, and goodwill.

Meditation practice helps us on many levels, from simple relaxation to freedom within the states of mental chaos. With this class we can begin to learn the basics of meditation in a simple yet engaging setting. While meditation is often considered to be a state of being, a place to "get to," in actuality meditation is a process that can yield various states of being: relaxation, focus, clarity, etc. It's this sense of a deliberate and active process of awareness that characterizes our approach to building a meditation practice.

The first half of the class will go into how we can look into the stillness within to find a deeper sense of self, and begin to create more clarity for what we want to feel more of. We will then use the tools discussed to practice two different types of meditations designed to create more balance and freedom in your life.

When the vibrations of our physical and spiritual bodies are out of harmony, it can create blockages which, left unchecked can eventually lead to disease.

In this Sound Journey Meditation, Laura and Dan Martier will teach you how to recognize harmony in the various tones using our collective voices and various sound healing instruments. These include, handpan, crystal and Tibetan bowls, chimes and gongs where together we will
feel the joy of harmony with our voices and our vibrations as one.
