Slackline Yoga or Slackasana is a unique practice that teaches complete body awareness. It is a moving meditation that will refine your sense of balance and mental focus. It involves balancing on a 1 inch wide 'yoga mat' (slackline). In this 90 min Slackshop you'll learn the basics of the Slackasana series. These includes standing (commitment), kneeling (core strength), sitting (focus), arm balancing (breath), as well as exercises for more seasoned slackers to expand their comfort zone on the line. All skill levels encouraged to come. Slacklining is great for yogis, climbers, couch potatoes, and athletes of all kinds. Take your yoga off your yoga mat! No experience necessary.

Nurture your transformation for finding your True North. Find your path by learning to let go.

What is play? Why do adults need playtime? How is this important in finding your True North? In this basics class we will spend the first 5-10 minutes answering those questions to deconstruct our work habits. Reframing our minds for play. After the lecture you will be introduced to a hula hoop routine. We will walk through the routine together. Then break it down trick by trick with one on one instruction.

Each day we will learn a different hula hoop routine to awaken, explore, and strengthen your growth.

Classes can be taken separately. However, attendance to all three classes is encouraged for the full experience of the three day course. A limited number of hula hoops will be provided, fifteen to twenty. Bring water, yoga mat, a hula hoop, and a playful heart.

Slackline yogis have trade their large yoga mats for a one-inch piece of webbing. Their practice is centered on the idea of finding balance and stillness within movements, and exploring and pushing the limits of what we believe is possible on the ground and on a slackline. We'll draw on your yoga (or movement) practice to serve as a test to your mental, emotional, and physical balance, focus, and attention. Come learn how to use a slackline to practice a whole spectrum of asanas that will help increase your sense of balance while maintaining a playful nature. Transformative Play Hula Hoop Course: Intermediate

Yearning to explore & diving into play.

Bring out the inner child hiding in all of us. We will revisit major points from the basics class. In the first 5 minutes we will talk about the highlights of the importance of play. Followed by a playful warm up with our hula hoops. Warm up will incorporate activities that will melt away everyday habits that harden our inner child. After the warm up we dive right into our hula hoop routine. We will walk through the routine together. Then break it down trick by trick with one on one instruction. Come ready to roll in the grass, growl like a lion, and laugh a lot. Class will end with a group activity. Creating a Flower of Life with our hula hoops.

Each day we will learn a different hula hoop routine to awaken, explore, and strengthen your growth.

Wear long legged bottoms and long sleeve top if sensitivity to grass contact on skin. Classes can be taken separately. However, attendance to all three classes is encouraged for the full experience of the three day course. A limited number of hula hoops will be provided, fifteen to twenty. Bring water, yoga mat, a hula hoop, and a playful heart.

As you develop your slacklining practice you will start contemplating walking longer lines (longlines), highlines, and waterlines. All these lines have one thing in common: you cannot use the ground to begin your walk. This workshop will teach you several mounts to use in those cases and will have you walking the long walk in no time. Learning how to effectively enter any slackline without touching the ground will open a new spectrum of poses and line transition options to your practice. Pre-requisites: Previous participation on any Slackline Yoga Class or ability to stand and/or kneel on a slackline for at least 15 seconds.

Twin Hula Hooping and Circus Drills

Have you ever wondered how circus hoopers spin three, four or even six hoops at once? In this class we will start with circus hoop drills to strengthen and train your body. Circus drills help build the endurance needed for multi-hula hooping. We will drill spinning the hula hoop on our hands, neck, torso, and feet. Spinning the hoop in dominant and opposite directions. After drills you will be introduced to hula hooping with two hula hoops at once. Twin hula hooping. Twin hula hooping seems overwhelming but in this class twin hooping is simplified. From weaves to on body hooping. Twin hooping will Increase your hoop related creativity, body awareness, and strength. We will walk through a twin hula hoop routine together then break it down trick by trick. One on One instruction will be provided throughout the class. Come ready for a physical challenge.

*This class is not part of the three day Transformative Play Hula Hoop Course.

A limited number of hula hoops will be provided, fifteen to twenty. Bring two hula hoops matching in size. Hula hoops should be body hooping sized hoops. Bring water, yoga mat, twin hula hoops, and a towel to wipe all the hard work off your face.

Transformative Play Everyday!

Last day of the Transformative Play Hula Hoop Course. Class starts with the warm up using intermediate skills. Followed by open discussion about how we can live in a world that seeks to harden our hearts and inner child. Discussion will end with how to integrate the topics covered in everyday life.The last half of class we will learn a routine using some of the tricks learned in previous classes. We will add advance circus tricks to our routine. We will walk through the routine together. Then break it down trick by trick with one on one instruction.
